Über diese Unterkunft

Set over three storeys and sleeping ten guests, Lavvande rests in the town of Walberswick and is the perfect seaside hideaway for a family looking to explore Suffolk. Park off road and make yourself at home in this large detached property, firstly finding the sitting room where orange décor complements a contemporary interior and the glow from the woodburning stove welcomes you to relax, or for a peaceful moment there is the option of the study. The kitchen/diner is simply stunning, with all of the home-from-home amenities available to guests, marble work surfaces adding a sense of opulence and plenty of space for cooking together, and the bi-fold doors opening up onto the wonderful garden, giving the option of alfresco dining or using the dining table. Six bedrooms leave guests spoilt for choice, including a king-size with en-suite with walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC, a second king-size, a double, a single, a second-floor single and a second-floor king-size, each with their own character and within easy reach of a bathroom or shower room. Walberswick is a coastal village where you can find a great selection of pubs, cafes and independent stores, allowing for a warm meal between exploring the fantastic beach and coastal walks. Head over to the neighbouring town of Southwold for more independent shops and beach walks, and you can also visit the well-known pier and historic lighthouse. Head inland to Halesworth for a day in the countryside and local wildlife. Enjoy the seaside of Suffolk with a stay at Lavvande.

Very good
Unfortunately the dish washer is not working properly. This has been mentioned in reviews so I thought it would have been sorted, but no! So Christmas for 10 people required slot of washing up! Not what we wanted to be doing. There were no logs for a cosy fire, even when we arrived on the evening of 23rd of December and even though I had telephoned to check there would be a starter log bag! the picture painted in the write up could not be achieved, disappointing, such a small thing.

There was no microwave and coukd do with a bit more parking but that is being really picking - everything else was spot on and 10/10 - group of 9 friends and 2 dogs who who are thinking of going back later this year as it was such a lovely base to explore the local area - a stormy weekend held us back but the house kept us warm with space for everyone! Both village pubs are welcoming and serve local beer and spirits and delicious food!

Very good
The crockery, glassware and cutlery were not cleaned properly. The dishwasher was not working well despite being used according to instructions. The first floor bathroom needs repairs to tiles, bath panel and window sill. The door lock does not work. One of patio paving stones had become detached and was on grass making trip hazards. There was no microwave in kitchen despite being in description.
