Located in the centre of popular Southwold in Suffolk, Mycroft is a well-presented holiday which is just perfect for a small family. The property benefits from off-road parking and a courtyard garden and yet is just a few minutes from the beating heart of vibrant Southwold. The open-plan living space is a delight with a comfy seating area providing an attractive focal point to the room. The fully equipped kitchen is well fitted with everything that is needed to rustle up healthy food for the whole family and the elegant dining area is all set up ready for you to enjoy sociable meals together. Should the weather allow it, then there is a barbecue and patio table and chairs in the courtyard ready for you to make the most of any sunshine. After a quick soak in the bath or a refreshing shower, you’re ready to get out and about exploring. Southwold is just a short walk with a good selection of shops and eateries as well as a sandy beach, a lighthouse, a pier and what it’s best known for – its collection of brightly coloured beach huts. Take a scenic walk to the picture-postcard pretty village of Walberswick or a little further along the coast check out the seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. Attractions worth jumping in the car to visit include RSPB Minsmere, Snape Maltings, Framlingham Castle, Sutton Hoo and Africa Alive Zoological Reserve. Take a tour of Adnams Brewery or Shawsgate Vineyard or get into the swing of golf with courses at Southwold, Thorpeness, Beccles and Halesworth. Very good
The location is perfect, just a short walk into town yet easy to come and go by car, though parking anything other than a small vehicle can be a challenge in the car port. As mentioned previously in the visitor's book, the bed was found to be less than comfortable. Overall though, I highly recommend the property - Thank you!

A great property to use a base, very clean and the owners have clearly thought about what you need. Right near the high street and would recommend the Cornwall bakery for croissants in the morning. A couple of minor points which didn't affect us as we didn't eat meals but there are only two chairs and for somewhere that sleeps 4 you can't really eat a meal together. Also bed linen was a bit tight for the bed so kept pinging off. These are really minor and we would love to come back again.

Mycroft is a lovely cottage set in a wonderful, pleasant location just five minutes walk from the centre of Southwold, and five minutes more to the sea front. Despite being so close the centre of town, the cottage sits in a quiet, secluded setting. The cottage itself has a TARDIS like quality to it, in that it feels larger on the inside compared with what the outside, or indeed online photos might suggest. It's clean and comfortable and provided us (two adults and a young child) an excellent place to explore Southwold and the local area. We would definitely stay in Mycroft again.

The cottage was positioned perfectly a short walking distance to everything of interest in the town, having a dedicated parking area was a bonus, although perhaps a little tight for larger cars. Mycroft was just the right size for two people, it was tastefully and practically designed and everything that we needed during our stay was available
