This self-catering, stylish, Aldeburgh holiday let has painted panelled walls downstairs, wooden floorboards, and wooden window shutters throughout. It is perfectly situated just a few minutes walk from Aldeburghs wonderful High Street and beach. Downstairs has an open plan layout with areas for seating, dining and cooking. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, a double bedroom and a small shower room. Outside there is a good-sized and sunny courtyard patio with a table and chairs and space to keep your bicycles. Ground Floor. The front door leads into an open plan living area which accommodates seating, dining and kitchen facilities. Living Area. There's a Scandinavian style fabric sofa and two armchairs, a large feature mirror, flat-screen TV with Freeview and wireless broadband. Kitchen/Dining Area. There is a reclaimed painted dining table and four antique mid-century chairs. The kitchen area is small but well-equipped, including a Corian work surface, electric Smeg hob and oven, a tall fridge-freezer hidden away behind wooden panelling, a built-in Microwave, bread-maker, a juicer, and lots of cookery books. Outbuilding. Just outside the back door is an outbuilding which houses a washing machine and a tumble dryer. First Floor. Stairs from the open plan area have hand-printed trompe d'oiel wallpaper by Deborah Bowness and lead up to a small first-floor landing with access to the bedrooms and bathroom. Master Bedroom. A king bedroom with a built-in wardrobe and floor to ceiling shelves. There is a bookshelf with a good range of books for you to borrow during your stay. Second Bedroom. A small but beautiful room with a day bed that can be pulled out to a double bed, this will fill the room so there is no space either side of the bed. Shower Room. This compact room has a small shower cubicle, w.c. and small hand basin. Outside. Outside there is a patio courtyard to the rear of the house. There is a right of access over the courtyard to the back entrances of the neighbouring cottages. On-road parking is usually available in nearby side streets or in the church across the road for a contribution.

Exceptional
We had a lovely stay at Mariners cottage. The property was very comfortable & relaxing, with a nice courtyard. Although we normally try to stay on the seafront, the beach is only an easy 5min walk away which was very good. The main concern was that the stairs were very steep & coming down would have been easier for my mum if there was a handrail to hold on to. Overall the property meet our needs very well & we would definitely use it again in the future.

We had a very nice stay at Mariners Cottage. The Cottage has everything you need to enjoy a self catering holiday. The accommodation was clean and fresh on arrival. It is in a very good location for all the local amenities. Our negatives would be that the Shower/toilet is extremely compact and does not lend itself well for anyone who is tall but is manageable. The shower cubicle itself is large enough once you are in it. You have to be mindful that there is no bannister on the steep staircase so care is of the essence when going up or down. The outside courtyard is in dire need of a good clean up to rid the area of weeds, cobwebs etc - this could be a very pleasant area to sit in nice weathe …

Mariners Cottage is in a great location, just a few minutes walk from the high street & seafront. Decorated to a high spec, the cottage is equipped with everything you could need for your stay away. As reviews suggested, the bathroom is small (but not a problem as long as you're aware) & the outside courtyard is shared with the cottage next door so may not suit if you need your own space.

A cosy cottage in a great location. Generally well equipped although I don’t think the second bedroom would be suitable for two. We had a lovely weekend. Our only complaints were that the single bed was not made up on our arrival and the outdoor courtyard, which could be a delightful communal space, was not well maintained and not very inviting. The shower room was fine for us but would be a problem for some as it is so confined.

Cozy cottage perfect for couples for a short stay. Clean and within easy distance of main high street. Bathroom extremely small which was a struggle for my husband who is tall. Would definitely visit again for a long weekend.

Thank you for complimentary bottle of wine and crackers. They were much appreciated. Location is excellent with an easy walk into Aldeburgh and plenty to do in the surrounding area. As others have said, the bathroom is small, but is useable. Although the cottage is just off the main road into Aldeburgh, it's quiet with little traffic late in the evening and early morning.
