Located in the tranquil pretty area of Nottington, outside of Weymouth, Follis Cottage is converted stable situated next to the owner’s house. It is well known locally for its Spa House - a hexagonal shaped property which can be seen from the grounds. With two bedrooms Follis Cottage can accommodate up to four guests. Creating a comfortable home atmosphere each room is furnished with dressing tables and two chairs and large wardrobes for a good night’s sleep. There is a generous garden area which guests can use and is accessed via a gravelled pathway or the car parking area. Follis Cottage has wheel chair access via an available ramp. Inside there is step free, level access. The separate laundry room is accessed via the rear of the cottage. Many of the attractive stone and granite cottages are fronted by a cascading mill stream which are part of the charm of the village. Folklore relates to the tale of when the local inhabitants of Nottington were asked many moons ago if they would allow a village pub to be built - it was flatly refused. A petrol station within walking distance provides the morning papers and for your essential shopping needs two handy supermarkets are only a five-minute car journey away. The historic county town of Dorchester is only five miles away and the award-winning blue flag beach at Weymouth with its golden sands and shallow water is only two miles from the property. The owners live within the grounds and will respect your privacy, they are more than happy to offer advice and local knowledge when asked. Follis Cottage offers an excellent location to discover the beautiful Dorset countryside and the famous Jurassic Coast World Heritage site for family or couples.

Positives: Good location and a clean property and the kitchen well equipt. Negatives: No welcome pack which meant we had to go shopping locally as soon as we arrived. After we saw a mouse running across the floor we reported it and pest control was called out. We were told the garden was exclusively for our use but most mornings there were 3 builders vans parked in the field. It was a hot week so a fan would have been welcomed. The fact that the shower had a fixed head in the middle of the bath made it not particularly accessible.

This cottage is better for 2/3 people as the living space is small for 4. There are some lovely walks from the cottage and the hosts are an absolute gem, very friendly and helpful. Thank you

Follis Cottage is ideally situated for getting around the Dorset coast by road. Local buses run regularly into Weymouth and I found my stay quiet and comfortable. The only downside was there is no welcome pack, so you need to bring everything you need to start your stay trouble free. I would be happy to recommend this cottage to anyone.

Follis Cottage was all it was described … well equipped, spotlessly clean and cosy with comfortable beds. The owners were very friendly and helpful too. Unfortunately the weather was horrendous as Storm Benjamin blew in however the cottage was toasty warm. This cottage gets 10/10 from us.

We arrived in a torrential downpour. Before we could open a cat door, we were greeted by a smiling face under an umbrella. With me being disabled, our host helped my wife unload the car. He then showed my wife where what and how in the cottage. The cottage isn’t overly large, but was a good size for a week away from home. The internal doors are all wide enough for a wheelchair. The mattress is a little on the firm side from what we are used to, but we had a decent nights sleep. The cottage is traffic quiet. Most of the day is filled with birds calling to each other.there is a field where children can safety play next to the cottage.we will most likely book again for next year once I know ne …
