  Beautiful home, great horizons

  The Pump Station is a beautifully designed home. High end cooking/dishwasher facilities and designer pots/pans/crockery and cutlery. The kitchen is fully equipped for dining and even baking should you wish. Unusually for a holiday home the cooking knives were sharp and there was salt/pepper and oil.\r\n\r\nThe overall feel of the place is: wow! However it is looking a bit tired in places and some areas need refreshing and the mattresses could be better; though that doesn't detract from how lovely the place is and how great the views are, big skies and fantastic horizons

  Perfect for a quiet escape

  We had a lovely stay in Dungeness and it was a great opportunity to properly disconnect from London, particularly during the heat. The location is fantastic, with plenty of opportunities for long beach walks and great food, and having the Snack Shack right across the road was a real bonus.\r\n\r\nOur only minor gripe was that, despite requesting and arranging a high chair and travel cot in advance, neither was there when we arrived. When the first travel cot was delivered, it was unfortunately covered in what can only be described as bird poo! This was dealt with very well and promptly by the hosts, but it did make the start of the stay a little more stressful than it needed to be, especiall …

  A beautiful house but in need of some TLC

  Four of us - two couples - stayed for four nights. As others have said, the house has been beautifully converted into a dwelling with lovely spaces and an extremely well-equipped kitchen and well functioning bathrooms. The location and the views from the floor to ceiling windows are both stunning. There are a few downsides which other reviewers have also noted (repeatedly): the bed/mattress, certainly in the main bedroom, is extremely soft and uncomfortable - one of us decamped to the snug to get a proper night's sleep; there is a need for some maintenance - the front door is beautifully designed but it has dropped slightly on its hinges and so is now very difficult to close and lock from th …

  Perfect stay

  We stayed for 2 nights and everything was perfect (except the weather!). The central lounger area is lovely and a great place to hang out. Kitchen was well equipped and the shores always had hot water. For a quieter space the nook is a great place to read. The location was perfect for going on walks…we walked to Dymchurch then got the miniature train back to Dungeness.

  Fantastic property (except for the beds)

  We really enjoyed our stay at PS1. It’s a beautiful property with a wonderful and peaceful feeling of space and light and it’s in an incredibly interesting location. Frankly, we’d love to come back but would struggle to do that unless basic mattresses are purchased for the property. We tried all of the beds but they are all exceptionally uncomfortable.

  A wonderful stay

  We had the most wonderful stay in the Pump House which was even better in real life than in the photos. My son literally exclaimed as we walked in the door that this was the best house he’d ever been in. It was comfortable and luxurious and sitting look out at the shingle and the power station through the floor to ceiling windows is quite magical. It’s a very special place.
